Who we are

VATskills is the training business of Edd Thompson. Edd is a chartered tax adviser and chartered accountant.

Currently Edd splits his time between his independent training work as VATskills and his advisory role as VAT Director with CubedTax.

Edd was previously Head of Indirect Taxes for Tolley’s technical team.

He trained in accountancy practice with Mazars and returned to VAT consultancy with Forvis Mazars following his time at Tolley. He has also seconded to the VAT function of a large North American headquartered bank.

Edd has taught on both ATT and CTA qualifications and has lectured for professional bodies.

He has written for many of the leading VAT and tax publications including De Voil Indirect Tax Service, Tolley’s Value Added Tax, Tax Journal, Taxation Magazine and Tax Adviser.
